In a town of Berezovsky, the Kuzbass region, a house thief was arrested, who lost his jaw while leaving the scene of the crime.

A local resident went to police and reported the theft of 3,000 rubles ($90) and  and electric drill. The police detained the suspect soon afterwards. The man pleaded guilty.

It turned out that he was a common-law husband of the woman, who filed the police report. The day before, the man paid a visit to the woman's place. After dinner, which included alcohol, the woman went to her neighbor's and locked the sleeping man in the apartment.

The man said that he woke up at night with the desire to drink. Having found no alcohol in the apartment, the man wanted to go out to get some, but discovered that he had been locked in the flat. He decided to steal some money from the woman and grabbed a drill along. According to the man, he got out of the flat through the window.

He jumped out, landed on snow and lost his prosthetic jaw in the snow. The man faces up to five years in prison, officials said.
