American songstress Christina Aguilera to perform in Shanghai - 16 May, 2007

For Christina Aguilera, there ain't no other city but Shanghai.

The four-time Grammy Award winner is coming to China's commercial hub for a single concert on June 26 at the Grand Stage, host to earlier performances by the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and Black Eyed Peas.

The New York City native, who received yet another Grammy nomination this year for the song "Ain't No Other Man," has over time traded her squeaky-clean teenybopper look for an increasingly sexy, mature image and lyrics.

That apparently didn't faze China's cultural commissars, however, who have in past told the Stones not to sing some of their racier hits and canceled a performance by rapper Jay-Z after deeming his lyrics "vulgar."

Aguilera has sold more than 25 million albums and is currently touring to promote her latest record "Back to Basics" which has already spawned the hits "Ain't no Other," "Hurt," and "Candyman."

Tickets for the heavily promoted concert will run from 200 yuan (US$26;euro19) to 2,000 yuan (US$260;euro190).

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Trump regime "sought options to strike Iran," falsely saying it may pursue a course no previous US leadership considered. More on this below.

The WSJ on US War Plans Against Iran

In response to the unlawful December 1 arrest and detention of Chinese tech giant Huawei's chief financial officer Sabrina Meng Wanzhou by Canadian authorities in Vancouver at the behest of the Trump regime, facing possible unacceptable extradition to the US, Beijing warned its high-tech personnel last month against traveling to America unless it's essential.
