Brtain's 'king of spam' imprisoned

Britain's so-called king of spam has been sentenced to six years in prison for a "catalogue of criminality."

Peter Francis-Macrae, 23, known to his victims as "Weaselboy," was convicted of making death threats, fraud, money laundering and blackmail in a $2.7 million scam.

He reportedly was arrested before he could carry out a threat to crash all 4.3 million Web addresses ending in ".uk," which could have meant havoc for the economy, the Times of London said.

Francis-Macrae used spam to trick victims to pay him to register for new European Internet addresses ending in ".eu." The scam earned him $343,000 a fortnight.UPI
