'King of Pop' Michael Jackson to Be Buried on His Birthday

'King of Pop' Michael Jackson will be laid to rest on his birthday, according to the singer's father.

Media reports surfacing this month claimed the Jackson family secretly interred the superstar in a mausoleum owned by his close friend, Motown legend Berry Gordy.

Jackson's father Joe put an end to the speculation saying that the star will be laid to rest at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills on his birthday, New York Daily News reported.

Joe confirmed the family recently decided to bury the pop icon on August 29 -the day he would have turned 51 - nine weeks after he passed away after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest, informs Times of India.

According to The Associated Press, an attorney for Michael Jackson's mother says she is considering a wrongful death lawsuit because of the circumstances surrounding her son's demise, and that the singer's personal physician is a likely target.

The idea is still nascent and Dr. Conrad Murray is the main name that's been mentioned, attorney Burt Levitch said Monday, following a court hearing where a judge approved a merchandising deal that will benefit the King of Pop's estate.
