International Slavic forum held in Moscow

Moscow is hosting the International Slavic forum with the participation of heads of Slavic universities and representatives of scientific and cultural circles from Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria and Yugoslavia. The forum is devoted to the modern state of the Christian civilization, educational projects in the 21st century and the problems of youth education. The participants agree that "only the public, not individual politicians, will be able to resist drawing artificial borders between the Slavic countries, to resist political divisions and losing the common cultural space." When speaking at the forum, Alexander Nazarov, deputy chairman of the Moscow government's public and interregional relations committee, called for overcoming the disagreements between the Slavic peoples and taking a firm stand in the world community.
