French designer Jean-Louis Scherrer dies at 78

 

Famous French fashion designer Jean-Louis Scherrer, who worked with Yves Saint Laurent, died in Paris at age 78.

The career of Jean-Louis Scherrer began in Christian Dior fashion house. In 1962, he created his own fashion house. Among his clients were French writer Francoise Sagan, the wife of former French President Giscard d'Estaing, wife of the Belgian King Albert II, American actress Raquel Welch, legendary Italian actress Claudia Cardinale and former first lady of the U.S. Jacqueline Kennedy.

In 1992, he sold his business to a Japanese company went out of business.
