Black Parents from Britain Amazed at Birth of White Baby Girl with Blonde Hair and Blue Eyes

A black British couple have spoken of their amazement after their baby girl was born white, with blue eyes and blonde hair.

Doctors say baby Nmachi Ihegboro is not an albino and attribute her appearance to an unknown genetic mutation.

Nmachi, whose name means "Beauty of God" in the Nigerian couple's homeland, has confused genetics experts because neither of her parents has any mixed-race family history, Herald Sun reports.

Doctors at Queen Mary hospital in Sidcup insist that Nmachi - is not an albino. The couple also have two black children an older daughter, Dumebi, two, and a son, Chisom, four.

If a woman is of mixed race, her eggs will usually contain a mixture of genes coding for both black and white skin. Similarly, a man of mixed race will have a variety of different genes in his sperm. Skin colour is believed to be determined by up to seven different genes working together.

Mum Angela said: 'She is beautiful, a miracle baby.'

Despite jokingly asking whether he was the father, Mr Igegboro said: 'Of course she is mine, Daily Mail says.
