Giuliani's health in no danger

By Alexandra Steblinina. Rudy Giuliani is to come back to his home after spending the night in a St. Louis hospital getting examined for flu-like symptoms, his campaign said.

"After precautionary tests the doctors found nothing of concern at this time and Rudy will be going back to New York later today," communications director Katie Levinson said in a statement issued before dawn Thursday. "He is in high spirits and is grateful to the doctors and nurses who checked him out."

Levinson said that a plane that was to carry the presidential candidate home from Missouri grounded shortly after takeoff because his symptoms had worsened. She said that such symptoms are commonly associated with the flu, the AP reports.

Giuliani served two terms as Mayor of New York City (1994–2001). Giuliani gained international attention during and after the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center. In 2001, Time magazine named him "Person of the Year" and he received an honorary knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2002.

After leaving office as mayor, Giuliani founded Giuliani Partners, a security consulting business; acquired Giuliani Capital Advisors (later sold), an investment banking firm; and joined the Bracewell & Giuliani law firm, which changed its name when he became a partner. In February 2007 Giuliani filed a statement of candidacy for the Republican nomination for the 2008 presidential campaign.

Recently, Pravda.ru reported that the Republican former New York mayor had a secrecy isues. The main is is Giuliani Partners, the consulting business he formed when he left City Hall. He still works for the firm but will not shed light on its business dealings or release a client list. He is not required to; the company is privately held.

"It isn't mysterious at all," Giuliani insists, arguing that the media has identified clients.

He is also battling - and dismissing - suggestions that security expenses for extramarital liaisons with Judith Nathan, who is now his current wife, were hidden in little-known city accounts. And, he is facing criticism for the handling of his mayoral records.
