Leonardo DiCaprio has been named the highest-grossing actor of 2010 by Forbes magazine.
The US actor appeared in two blockbusters over the past 12 months, headlining Christopher Nolan's sci-fi thriller Inception, and also taking the lead in Martin Scorsese's mystery noir Shutter Island. The films took $825m and $295m around the world respectively, The Guardian informs.
In second place was actress Mia Wasikowska, the star of Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland." "Alice", a 3D retelling of the classic Lewis Carroll story, grossed $1.03 billion at the box office. Wasikowska beats out her co-star Johnny Depp for top-grossing runner-up status because her second released film, "The Kids are All Right," out-grossed Depp's rather tepidly-received "The Tourist."
Rounding out the top five are Robert Downey Jr, whose films "Iron Man 2″ and "Due Date" brought his films' haul to $808 million and Danielle Radcliffe and his "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1″ co-stars, given the action adventure's $780 million take at the global box office, Wall Street Journal reports.
