DiCaprio: attack “with a deadly weapon” required 12 stitches

The star of "Titanic" and "The Aviator" Leonardo DiCaprio has filed a police report over an attack at a Hollywood party that left him needing 12 stitches. DiCaprio stated that he was attacked with a deadly weapon while attending a party given by Paris Hilton's ex-boyfriend, Rick Salomon, reports AP.

Police officer Kevin Mailberger said DiCaprio contacted the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood division Monday afternoon to file the complaint. Last week, while leaving a small private party, DiCaprio was attacked with a glass object by a woman “who was trespassing and had been repeatedly asked to leave the property”, according to Ken Sunshine, DiCaprio's publicist. Sunshine said the actor was in Los Angeles taking a break from filming The Departed when the incident happened.

People magazine reported the 30-year-old actor was attacked by a woman with what appeared to be a beer bottle, opening a wound near DiCaprio's ear that needed about a dozen stitches to close. Mailberger said detectives were investigating, but no one has been arrested yet and there is no known motive for the attack.

The woman was reportedly looking for her ex-boyfriend, Reuters says.

Leonardo DiCaprio, at his 30, has been having relatively calm way of living in past two or three years. Despite his significant roles in “Catch Me If You Can” and “The Aviator” for the whole world he still remains a romantic hero of “Titanic”, who inspired scandals even in then Taliban-run Afganistan, making Taliban's vice squad arrest local hairdressers for "propaganda of Western values."
