Qaddafi Seeks Gorbachev And Mandela For His Committee Of Wise Men

The Lybian revolutionary leader Muammar Qaddafi suggested Monday that an international non-governmental committee of wise men should be established, featuring ex-presidents Mikhail Gorbachev, Bill Clinton and Nelson Mandela. Qaddafi believes that the committee of wise men could take part in resolving various conflicts. Qaddafi alleged that such an eminent body should become "a basis for morality, a symbol representing the world's consciousness" for authorities throughout the globe. It could help them with advice and action in accomplishing their missions and settling local or international discords and clashes. According to the Lybian news agency Jana, Qaddafi "has informed the world's leaders of his proposal."
