French rocker Johnny Hallyday forced to wait longer for his Belgian citizenship

Belgian parliamentary panel on Tuesday postponed a decision whether to grant veteran French rocker Johnny Hallyday Belgian citizenship.

The 63-year-old singer is a national institution in France, but his father was Belgian and he has been seeking to change nationality for over a year. Hallyday, whose real name is Jean-Philippe Smet, last year announced he was moving to Switzerland to avoid high French taxes.

The parliamentary panel did not have enough time to get to his dossier, socialist parliamentarian Karine Lalieux, reports AP.

A new session is set for next Tuesday.

He announced his intention to create a news service called "Pravda," which means "truth" in Russian. Well, we are Pravda. The Pravda.Ru website has been working professionally in Russia since 1999
