On Sunday Moscow's mayor Yuri Luzhkov arrived in Cyprus to take part in the Days of Moscow in the Cypriot capital of Nicosia, scheduled for May 29 - June 1.
The Russian capital is sending a delegation of more than 150 people to Nicosia. They are cultural workers, business circles representatives, and Moscow government officials.
During the event Moscow's mayor will meet Cyprus's president Glafcos Clerides and make speech for the country's business circles. Besides, he will take part in a seminar on housing and communal services, held in Limasol by the International City association.
The choice of the city of Helsinki is not incidental as the capital of Finland had hosted US-Soviet negotiations on the limitation of nuclear stockpiles in 1969
