Members of a criminal terrorist group tried to buy military armour equipment from a commercial firm in the Moscow region. The press service of the Main Anti-organized Crime Department of the Russian Interior Ministry stated that during the investigation activities the Department got certain information concerning the intentions of the criminal terrorist group. It turned out that the group was especially interested in the military equipment placed on the territory of a commercial firm near the town of Chekhov in the Moscow region.

On Wednesday, August 28, police officers examined the territory occupied by the firm. They found a T-72 tank, four military armour vehicles, two Smerch multiple launch rocket systems, more than 70 items of ammunition - shells and missiles. It is being cleared up now whether they can be used in combat. The firing range of a Smerch multiple launch rocket system is 45 kilometers.

No documents confirming the legal rights of the firm to the military equipment have been found. Besides, the equipment was not under guard, said the press service.
