China Invades Japan: one person arrested

Police in Japan have arrested a former computer programmer for allegedly posting a fabricated news article online which had China invading the Japanese island of Okinawa.

It appeared on a fake Yahoo Japan news Web site. Tokyo police arrested the 30-year-old on suspicion of violating patent laws.

Police say the man credited the fake article to the Kyodo News Agency and published it on an Internet site that he had designed to look like Yahoo Japan's news site.

Police say the story was written in Japanese with a headline saying, "Chinese Military Invades Okinawa." The Web site was accessed 66-thousand times until it was taken down last month, the
