The Petersburg Customs Officers Detained A Big Consignment Of Icons

A big consignment of icons has been detained at the Pulkovo Customs House (St. Petersburg). The parcel which contained forty unique icons of the 18th-19th centuries was found among the postal sendings which were to go by flight Saint Petersburg - Frankfurt. RIA Novosti was told about it in the press service of the North Western Customs Department. The found rarities include some very precious icons. They have been recognised as part of the cultural heritage of Russia. The parcel was sent by an inhabitant of the Leningrad Region. The icons have been confiscated. The investigation is going on.
