The humanitarian catastrophe took place in Switzerland. Four million chocolate rabbits, which were meant for the Easter sales, burnt “alive.” The fire happened in one of the warehouses of the company Migros, not far from Zurich, causing not only the material (some $12 million), but also the cultural damage.
The burnt rabbits made up over 40% of the entire stock, prepared for the citizens of Zurich and the eastern part of Austria. Migros increased the production output and started using its warehouses in other parts of the country. Anyway, the company can not guarantee that all citizens of Switzerland and Austria will have a chance for a traditional Easter gift.
