Sixty-two-year-old resident of the settlement of Repyevka in the Ulyanovsk region Mikhail Penzyakov has been keeping his wife chained in their house. Mikhail’s wife Taisia told her story to the head of the settlement, but her story was incomplete. She just complained of Mikhail beating her.
The head of the town sent a police officer to Mikhail. When the officer entered their house, his jaw dropped. One end of a steel chain was fixed to Taisia’s foot, the other end of the chain was fixed to a very heavy metal bed. The bed was firmly fastened to the floor.
The police officer released the “prisoner” and arrested the home tyrant. Criminal proceedings were instituted on the article “illegal deprivation of freedom.” Now Mikhail is likely to spend up to five years in jail. It was determined that he chained his wife to bed seven times during the period of two months. The elderly man claimed to the investigator that his wife was having love affairs with other men. Old lady said that sometimes her husband kept her chained to bed several days in a row. He was bringing her food and a bucket to use it as a toilet. While his wife was chained to bed, he was out drinking with his pals.
