Elton John to write musical about Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich

Well-known showbiz producer Billy Gaff acquired the rights for the biography of the Russian notorious oligarch Roman Abramovich. The producer plans to stage a musical about the Chelsea owner's life.

Billy Gaff, Rod Stewart's former producer, intends to make a vast musical extravaganza the Russian oligarch's life. According to the producer, the show will rock theaters of Europe. Most likely, the new musical will be titled "Red Rom," which is one of the work titles of the new spectacle. Gaff is going to involve Sir Elton John in the project - negotiations are underway.

The showbiz producer is being rather ambitious about the new musical. It is expected that several Chelsea footballers will participate in the show singing male chorus parts.

Billy Gaff became interested in the persona of the Russian oligarch after he had read the book "The Billionaire from Nowhere." When he finished reading the last page of it, he grabbed a telephone to find out, who owned the rights for Roman Abramovich's biography.

"Amazingly we got a call from Billy on Sunday and he wants to buy the rights to the book. He has a vision of the Red Rom story as a grand musical, a real rags to riches story telling this amazing story of an amazing man," author Chris Hutchins said.

The final decision about the possibility of the new stage show is to be made next week.

Meanwhile, news agencies of the world report that Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has purchased a chateau in the south of France, which used to be the home of the exiled Duke of Windsor. The oligarch has reportedly paid $30 million for his new property. Another $30 million will be needed to repair the damage, which was caused with fire in the 1980s.
