Germans Wrote the "Fastest" Book

On April 23, on the World Book and Copyright Day, which is also the date when two prominent authors, William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes died, an unusual action was held in Germany's Mainz. Over 40 authors started writing "the world fastest book" at the same time.

A spokesman of the German foundation "Reading" popularizing reading of books among the population said that main condition of writing this book was the speed of this process. German authors were given just two hours for writing the book. As it was planned, one thousand of copies were to be printed in Cologne, then bound till 5 p.m. April 23, after that the book was planned to be sent to Berlin, Hamburg, Dusseldorf and Wiesbaden. As it was planned, "the fastest book in the world" was to come into the market already in the evening of the same day.
