Russian deputies are ready to dance and sing for $1000

The Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper decided to poke fun at the deputies of the Russian parliament. The spokespeople for the newspaper called about 20 deputies, said they were from a respectable organization that would like to invite them to a New Year’s party. The correspondents promised to pay the deputies $1.5 thousand. The result surpassed all expectations: everyone agreed. Some of the deputies were even ready to put Santa Clause hats on, for an extra charge of course.

That material caused a controversy in the parliament. Some of the “entertainers” said they were going to sue the newspaper, and others promised “to beat our mug.” However, there was a very unexpected reaction from the deputy of the Tuva republic, Kaadyr Bicheldey. He called the editorial office of the newspaper and said that the idea about such a hang-out for the deputies should be legalized. He said the problem of leisure for the deputies of the Russian parliament is rather serious: “most of the deputies do not know what to do in the evening.” Bicheldey added, though, that payment under one thousand dollars would not be good for such undertakings.
