Russian and Canadian teams to play for golden medals of Junior Ice Hockey World Championship

As it was a year ago, Russian and Canadian teams would play for golden medals of the Junior Ice Hockey World Championship. This information was revealed after the results of the semi-finals, where the Russian team had defeated the Finnish team 4:1 /the goals were scored by Yevgeny Artyukhin, Yury Trubachyov, Aleksander Perezhogin and Igor Grigorenko/, and the Canadian team beat the Americans 3:2.

In the other Friday game the Swedish team defeated the Belarussian team 5:4 in battle for the Championship standings from 7 till 10.

Thus, the Russian and Canadian teams reached the Championship finals, which will be held on January 5th /last year the Champions title went to the Russian team/.

On the same day the Finnish and American teams will compete for the bronze medals.

Three games will be held on January 4th within the framework of the Championship: Czech Republic - Slovakia /for the 5th place/, Sweden-Switzerland and Germany-Belarus /games for the places 7-10/.
