International sportive ball dance tournament starts in Vladivostok

The Golden Horn, a traditional international tournament of sportive ball dances, opened in Vladivostok (the Primorye centre) on Thursday.

According to the President of the Primorye regional federation of dancing sport, Galina Shustova, 603 dancing couples from Russia, Great Britain, Japan, Ukraine, the Baltic states, China and other countries claimed to participate in the tournament.

The International Dancing Sport Federation granted the Golden Horn tournament the status of an open world championship. Prize-winners of the Vladivostok sportive ball dance contest will have a right to participate in the final of the world championship.

The Golden Horn was acknowledged the best contest at the dance festival in Moscow in March 2001.

On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, its thirty articles enshrining basic and fundamental rights guaranteeing dignity of the human person and equality for all, regardless of race, color, creed or gender. A pipe dream?
