Russian Maria Kirilenko wins first WTA tournament in her career

Russian Maria Kirilenko, 18, won Sunday's Tier II Women's Singles final of the $585,000 China Open in Beijing.

She beat No. 9 seed Anna-Lena Groenefeld (Germany) 6-3, 6-4, RIA Novosti reports. Kirilenko is No. 45 on the WTA Tour Rankings. It was the first victory in a WTA tournament in her career.
