Moscow Might Host 2005 Field-and-track World Championship

Today Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov and Russian sports officials met with the representatives of the International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF) to discuss Moscow hosting 10th IAAF 2005 World Championship. As the Moscow Mayor told journalists later, Moscow's chances are rather high. IAAF Vice-President Dapeng Lou further informed that though five other cities are competing for the honour to host the championship, Moscow is one of the favourites. Today the IAAF representatives will inspect the sport infrastructure existing in Moscow and talk about some organisational details. Based on their report, the IAAF council will decided on the place of the championship.
