Two Russian women athletes won the gold and silver medals in the World Cup competition in the 48-hour run held in the Czech city of Brno.
Irina Reutovich won top honours in the exhausting race by covering 366 km 750 m during 48 hours, with holder of two European titles in the 24-hour run Irina Koval taking second place with 327 km 514 m. Maria-Teresa Nardin from Italy took the bronze with 305 km 750 m.
All in all, about 50 athletes from 14 countries took part in the 48-hour run competition in Brno. Their list includes, alongside the Russian runners, in particular, athletes from Slovenia, Sweden, Austria, Japan, Great Britain, Germany and Spain.
