New sculptural composition unveiled in Moscow's Monuments Park

A new sculptural composition has been unveiled in the Monuments' Park at Moscow's Krymskaya Naberezhnaya. Intended as part of the programme of celebrating the Moscow City Day, which begins on August 30th, the composition consists of 12 monuments created during the 7th Moscow-based Sculpture Symposium entitled "The Muse Revived in Stone." The event had gathered Vladimir Buinachyov, Oleg Uvarov, Olga Khan, Ivan Balashov and other members of the Union of Artists.

Further on, the Moscow-based association Museon will donate monuments sculpted by students of the city's art colleges, the younger generation of artists that attended the symposium, to Moscow prefectures. The works will later be installed in the best yards of Moscow, which shall be chosen in an all-city competition called "My Yard, the Entrance to My House." The unveiling was attended by Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov and representatives of the Moscow Culture Committee, the Arts Academy and the Tretyakov Gallery.
