Ukraine to quit Eurovision in case of Russia's victory

Ukraine will refuse to participate in Eurovision-2017 Song Contest if Russia's Sergey Lazarev wins this year's competition.

The announcement was made by Zurab Alasania, director of the National Television Company of Ukraine that organizes the participation of Ukrainian singers in Eurovision. "I have to think of an alternative. If a man named Lazarev wins, UA:First will refuse to take part in the contest again," Alasania wrote on his Facebook page.

According to bookmakers, Sergei Lazarev is expected to be in the top three of the winners.

In the course of the contest, Ukrainian viewers, journalists and support group of Ukrainian singer Jamala added a lot of politics in the music festival. Ukrainian journalists in Stockholm turned Jamala's performance into a political meeting. During her performance, Ukrainian journalists arranged a "political camp" in the press room by standing in a line and holding Ukrainian flags and shouting Bandera's slogan "Glory to Ukraine!" posing for cameras of European TV channels.
