A former American Major League Baseball player and current sportscaster, Steve Stone, signed Monday night a deal with the White Sox. He is now the team's full-time radio color analyst for the 2008 season.
Stone was at the top of the list for possible replacement following Singleton's resignation. In addition he is familiar with the team and the management, since he himself once was a part of it in 70s.
Stone’s first broadcast will be Friday's Spring Training game against Arizona at Tucson Electric Park.
In early August 2007, Stone filled in for Chicago White Sox color commentator Darrin Jackson, while Jackson took leave for the birth of his child.
