Cat interrupts game of soccer in London

The cat, which appeared on the football field during the game between Liverpool and Tottenham in London, has become a star on YouTube. The game ended with 0:0, but the animal was running about the field for nearly ten minutes.

The incident took place on February 6. The cat appeared on the field during the 11th meeting of the game. The animal attracted everyone's attention immediately. The cat wandered around Tottenham's penalty area for a few seconds near Brad Friedel, the goalkeeper. Afterwards, the animal sat down for a minute amusing 44,000 fans that packed Anfield. The game was stopped until a steward came to take the animal away. The fans were chanting "A cat, a cat, a cat!" The grey and white tabby was later released on the streets.

The video with the Anfield cat went viral on YouTube. Someone started a Twitter account that claimed to be the Premier League's newest star. The account attracted over 25,000 followers in minutes. @AnfieldCat tweets what the animal does at the moment and what he thinks about the events around him. One of the tweets from this account said that the cat was about to sign a contract with another Liverpool football club, Everton.

As a matter of fact, the Anfield cat does not have a name. The animal lives wild in the streets near the Liverpool ground.
