New sports and recreation complex to open in Ivanovo region

A sports and recreation center is going to be built in the Privolzhsky district of the Ivanovo Region. The ceremony to plant a capsule into the base of the building took place on July 5. The event was attended by the Governor of the Ivanovo region Mikhail Men, and the head of the administration of the municipality,  Sergei Sychev. It is planned that the new center will open in 18 months.

Governor Mikhail Men said that the task of the regional government is to open sports facilities in the whole region - not only in the regional center. "We have already opened a similar facility in Vichuga, a swimming pool will soon be opened in Shuya, construction documents are being prepared for the construction of the sports and recreation center in Rodniki," the head of the region said.

Mikhail Men said that in the future, the new center would welcome children from other regions of Russia too. "Its location at the entrance to Privolzhsk will give children from the Furmanovsky district an opportunity for attend the center as well," he said.

The project documentation for the construction of the sports and recreation complex was developed in 2011. Also in 2011 the facility was included in the federal target program "Development of Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation for 2006-2015". The total amount of the contract is 309.8 million rubles. The volume of the funds from the federal budget in 2012-2013 will amount to 70 million rubles, the remaining amount will be provided by regional and local budgets.

The total area of ​​ of the sports and recreation complex will be more than five thousand square meters. The universal hall for sports games will be located on the ground floor. The hall will be equipped with rows of seats. There will be two swimming pools there too. One of them will be 25 meters long, with five tracks. The other one will be a training pool. The second floor will house administrative and utility rooms, three gyms. The auction determined the general contractor construction - Bimas Ltd.
