Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling may miss 2008 season due to shoulder injury

An American Major League Baseball right-handed pitcher, Curt Schilling, may miss the entire 2008 season because of a significant shoulder injury. The injury is not exactly known, but it is believed the injury is to the rotator cuff or the labrum and may require surgery.

He currently negotiates with the Boston Red Sox the necessity of surgery and the fate of his $8 million contract for 2008.

Schilling has won World Series championships in 2001 with the Arizona Diamondbacks and in 2004 and 2007 with the Red Sox, and, with a career postseason record of 11-2, he is widely regarded as one of the best postseason pitchers in baseball history.

If he starts 2008 season it’ll be definitely his last season, if not, he may be replaced by Clay Buchholz.
