Nizhny Novgorod governor meets FIFA experts

On Tuesday, June 19, Nizhny Novgorod region governor Valery Shantsev will hold a work meeting with Director General of the Organizing Committee of "Russia-2018" Alexei Sorokin, as well as the head of the department to organize FIFA World Cup 2014, 2018 and 2022 Jurgen Muller.

The presentation of Nizhny Novgorod as a candidate city to host the matches of FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. In addition, the members of the delegation will visit the construction sites of the stadium and the facility for supporters' festival, "NTA-Volga region" said.

The application for the design and survey works for the construction of the stadium for 45 thousand spectators for the matches of the World Cup in 2018 was approved during the recent meeting of the Investment Board.

The works are scheduled to start during the third and fourth quarter of this year. The construction of the object will begin in 2014. It is planned that the football stadium will be put into operation in 2017 for test matches of the Championship.
