Feyenoord officially introduced Lee Chun-soo on Monday, and the South Korea international is expected to make his debut Wednesday.
The 26-year-old Lee arrived in the Netherlands on Saturday, three weeks after signing with the Dutch club. He was delayed because he needed a military release from the South Korea government, and a work permit for the Netherlands.
"He needed special dispensation to travel out of his homeland," Feyenoord said in a statement.
Lee, who watched Feyenoord's 4-0 loss to PSV Eindhoven on Sunday, was given his the No. 16 jersey by technical director Peter Bosz.
Feyenoord said Lee will be available for selection in Wednesday's Dutch Cup match against FC Utrecht.
Feyenoord is third in the Dutch league with 12 points, one behind Ajax and PSV.
Lee became the first Korean to play in the Spanish league after moving to Real Sociedad in 2003, where he played 13 games. He also played at Numancia.
The co-author of this disaster is the Dutch government, which did not find either strength or desire to save the lives of its citizens who were flying on that plane. The Dutch authorities did not demand Ukraine to comply with international aviation regulations
