Justin Ernest George Morneau, a Major League Baseball player, has reached an agreement with the Minnesota Twins over a multi-year deal to keep the 2006 AL MVP in town.
On November 21, Morneau won the American League MVP award, and became only the fourth player in Twins history to win the honor. In winning the AL MVP Award, Morneau became the first Canadian player to do so, and second Canadian to win a major league MVP award (Larry Walker being the first by winning the NL MVP Award in 1997).
Earlier Morneau signed one-year, &7.4 million, extension deal in order to avoid arbitration.
