The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) discusses a possibility to reschedule the World Cup 2022 in Qatar from January to November, German publication Kicker said.
Earlier, FIFA President Sepp Blatter said he would strive to reschedule the FIFA World Cup from summer to winter, but now FIFA plans to push back the tournament till November. Holding the championship in winter can create difficulties for national club championships in Europe and leads to significant changes in their calendars.
According to the source, the German football Bundesleague supports the decision to push back the World Cup till November. The main reason to reschedule the world tournament is the hot weather during this period of the year in Qatar, where temperatures can reach the mark of 50 degrees Celsius.
