Alexander Ovechkin sets personal anti-record

 

Russian striker of NHL Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin set a personal anti-record. Ovechkin concluded the match of the regular season with Columbus Blue Jacket with an efficiency rating of "minus 5", and his team lost with 2:5.

All five goals Washington Capitals missed in equal compositions, and in each of them, Ovechkin was on ice. When his team was scoring, he was on the bench.  "Today, I was the worst. I'm the one to blame. One can not play like that, so I need to get better,'' Ovechkin said after the game.

As of the result of the full season 2013/14, the efficiency rating of the player is "minus 17." The Russian hockey star comes 802nd in the league. The list includes 817 players in total, and the worst player is Russian forward of Edmonton Oilers, Nail Yakupov with the rating of -29. Yet, Ovechkin with 38 goals is ranked as the top scorer of the season, and comes 8th on the list of scorers.
