Russia Ready to Restore Transport Connection with Afghanistan

Russia is ready to restore its transport connection with Afghanistan, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Losyukov told Afghani Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism Mirwais Sadeq who had arrived in Moscow to hold consultations with the corresponding Russian departments.

At a meeting on Wednesday Losyukov and Sadeq discussed the situation in Afghanistan, the process of the country's state and economic restoration, as well as priorities in developing mutually profitable Russian-Afghani co-operation in different spheres.

In response to the Afghani Minister's interest in re-establishing transport connection with Russia, Losyukov confirmed that the Russian side was ready for active interaction with Kabul on this issue.
