Japanese company Kumatsu may open plant in Nizhni Novgorod

Japanese company Kumatsu is looking to expand its marketing outlets and is considering the possibility of opening a plant in Russia. This was announced by General Manager Hiroshi Murakami during a meeting with Deputy Governor of Nizhni Novgorod Yuri Sentiuriny in the Russian city on August 29.

As Rosbalt was informed by the governor's press office, Mr Murakami is keen to speak to regional leaders about the possibility of opening a plant in the region. Mr Sentiuriny told his guest that the region has all the necessary facilities for foreign manufacturers and offered the Kumatsu manager a selection of different production sites in the Dzerzhinsk, Borsk and Balakhnin districts of the region.

Kumatsu produces automobile and railway equipment and also supplies equipment for heavy industry. The company has one joint enterprise in Russia already, a metal working plant for road-building equipment in Yaroslavl.
