Iraqi ambassador: normalization process between Iraq and Iran is under way

The process of "full normalization of relations" is now under way between Iraq and Iran, said Iraq's new ambassador to Russia Abbas Halaf at a press conference in Moscow on Thursday.

"The process of recovering the situation is going on," he added. Iraq made a number of gestures to Iran, the Iraqi foreign minister and other members of the country's government made several visits to Tehran, according to the ambassador.

The rapprochement between Teheran and Baghdad that is taking shape now positively influences other countries in the region and creates a normal situation in the relations between peoples, Halaf believes.
