Russian Foreign Ministry Calls On Israel And Palestine To Resume Talks

The Russian Foreign Ministry has called on the Palestinian authorities to take urgent effective measures to combat terrorism and to stop violence, says the statement made by an official spokesman for the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday. And the Israeli government "should show political wisdom and self-control in order not to further aggravate the Palestinian-Israeli conflict," the statement says. The Russian Foreign Ministry's official spokesman is sure that in spite of the tragic and complicated situation, the problems should not be solved by force. "The sides should fulfil their obligations in accordance with the Mitchell's and Tenet's plans. There is no other way out," the statement stresses. Russia together with the USA, the European Union, the UN and other influential partners is ready to render assistance. It would meet the Palestinian and Israeli interests, the statement says.
