Israeli Planes Carry Out More Air Strikes On Palestinian Territory

Airplanes and helicopters of the Israeli Air Forces struck a number of targets in the Gaza Strip and three Palestinian cities in the West Bank, Sulfit, Ramallah, and Tulkarm, during the day on Tuesday. The strikes on Ramallah, where Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat is currently staying, targeted the building of the city department of the interior, which is located next to the residence of the Palestinian leader. According to Palestinian news, Mr. Arafat was inside the building at the time of the raid, but was not injured. Three rockets exploded next to the building. A headquarters of the organisation called Unit 17 has been struck in Tulkarm, and the building hosting the office of Palestinian special services in Sulfit. The target of F-16 planes in Gaza was the building of the security service headquarters. No one has been reported injured.

On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, its thirty articles enshrining basic and fundamental rights guaranteeing dignity of the human person and equality for all, regardless of race, color, creed or gender. A pipe dream?
