India announces its readiness for "drastic measures" to "stop trans-border terrorism"

India is ready to take "drastic measures" against "trans-border terrorism", Indian Prime Minister's National Security Advisor Brajesh Mishra announced at the "Urgent issues of present-day international security provision" forum in Moscow on the occasion of the Russian Security Council's 10th anniversary.

"India is a responsible country and "there is no bellicosity" on its part, the Indian premier's national security advisor remarked at the same time. "We are not inclined to act impulsively," Brajesh Mishra said.

According to him, terrorism is aimed mainly at "democratic, open societies, such as India." Terrorism is a global phenomenon, the advisor pointed out.

Brajesh Mishra recalled that in the course of the recent summit in Alma-Ata heads of states had spoken in favor of prohibiting to use terrorism in separatist aims. "It concerns Chechnya, Jammu and Kashmir," he underlined.

Brajesh Mishra estimated the cooperation of the Indian and Russian Security Councils as "exceptionally fruitful, professional and proving their good will."
