Japan and Uzbekistan determine development of mutually favourable cooperation

Wednesday saw the signing of a protocol, determining ways of development of Japan-Uzbekistan mutually beneficial cooperation, in Tashkent following the results of the 7th meeting of the Japan-Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan-Japan economic cooperation committees.

The parties intend to cooperate in oil and gas processing spheres as well as the light industry and agriculture, the Japanese Embassy in Uzbekistan informed RIA Novosti.

During the years of Uzbekistan's independence Japan has invested a total of over $1.5mln into the country's economy.

Branches of Japan's big companies and firms as well as over 10 joint enterprises are currently actively working in Uzbekistan.
