Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: It would be suicidal for the US to attack Iran

The Iranian people do not want war but they insist that it would be suicidal for any aggressor to attack them. This announcement was made yesterday by Iran's supreme spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

According to Irna news agency, this was announced to a million-strong crowd which had gathered at the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to mark the 14th anniversary of his death. 'All Iranians, especially the young people, will fiercely oppose anyone who tries to attack,' said Khamenei in response to US threats. The huge crowd responded with the chant: 'Death to America!'
