Two people have been charged Friday in connection with the murder of black teenager Anthony Walker, who was beaten to death in a racist attack.
Detectives said he was killed just minutes after he had been taunted with racist abuse while standing at a bus stop with his white girlfriend.
The 18-year-old died from axe injuries after he was attacked near McGoldrick Park in Huyton, Merseyside last Friday.
Paul Taylor, 20, of Elizabeth Road in Huyton, and a 17-year-old youth, also from Huyton, are due to appear before magistrates in Merseyside on Friday, BBC reports. A 23-year-old man questioned over the killing has been released on bail, Merseyside Police said. A vigil for Anthony is being held on Friday.
The murder of Walker, described as a devout Christian and model student, shocked the local community in Huyton and evoked memories of the 1993 racist killing of Stephen Lawrence, Reuters informs.
People will gather at St Gabriel's Church to pay their respects from 1900 BST, before walking to the scene of the attack.
