Russia to Sign Agreement with Europol

Russia is going to sign an agreement with Europol. As a Rosbalt correspondent reports, this was announced by Minister of the Interior Boris Gryzlov at a press conference on Tuesday. The agreement was reached today, November 5, during a meeting between Russian attorney-generals, Russian ministers of the interior and justice, and an EU delegation.

The minister said that the agreement is already in writing and that it was discussed at today's meeting. According to Mr Gryzlov, Director of Europol Willy Bruggeman has said that he was ready to sign the agreement.

Head of Delegation of the European Commission to Russia Richard Wright said that he hoped the agreement would be signed in the very near future. He said that the main aims of cooperation would be to stop prostitution, drug-trafficking, car theft and money laundering.
