Israeli Troops Enlarge Scale Of Aggression Against Palestinian People

On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday the Israeli troops invaded the town of Deir Al-Baliah in the Gaza Strip thereby enlarging the scale of the aggression against the Palestinian people. According to the Palestinian information agency WAFA, Israeli tanks entered the town and advanced to a distance of 200 metres. A 24-year-old Palestinian was gravely wounded as a result of last night's fire attack with the use of machine guns and tank guns on residential areas in Rafah town in the Gaza Strip. In the meanwhile, head of the Palestinian national authority Yasser Arafat received US consul-general in Jerusalem Ronald Shleiker and member of the American delegation staying in the region Aron Miller at his residence in Ramallah last night. The complex situation which has arisen in the Palestinian territories was discussed during the meeting. The sides considered the international efforts which are being made to stop the escalation of bloodshed.
