William Jerry Boykin, a well-known US military official, former Deputy Assistant Defense Minister for Intelligence, Lieutenant General in retirement, urged his colleagues to protest against the military policy of the White House and even resign as a token of disagreement with the policies of President Barack Obama.
Boykin criticized the actions of US authorities against Islamic State extremist group, noting that the Washington-led international coalition had not achieved any productive results in fighting against the terrorist group.

Boykin believes that Congress needs to focus more on real problems of the country and the army, instead of directing funds on conflicts in other countries, such as Ukraine. Such inefficient spending, he said, is the primary threat to US national security.
Boykin, a former military, who took part in various conflicts in the ranks of the US Army in the last four decades, said that he was ashamed of the fact that his country, a superpower, does not have a unified strategy to combat international terrorism. Instead, William Jerry Boykin believes, the US authorities develop the laws that contradict to the freedom-loving constitution of the country. Boykin does not support changes in legislation on freedom of religion in the United States.
