Mubarak: Egyptian security services warned USA 1 week before 9/11

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has declared that the Egyptian security services warned the USA about an impending terrorist attack by Osama Bin Laden’s Al-Qaeda network one week before the attack on 11th September.

In an interview with the New York Times, published on Tuesday, Hosni Mubarak states that a member of the Egyptian security forces, who has close contacts inside Al-Qaeda, found out that a serious attack was being planned to strike a target inside the USA.

The Egyptian authorities tried to warn the Americans. President Mubarak claimed that “All information was given to the Americans” but to no avail.

The apparent bickering and disjointedness between the various American security agencies (FBI, CIA and National Security Agency) seems to have provided a scenario wherein vital information and links were not followed up.

On December 10, 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, its thirty articles enshrining basic and fundamental rights guaranteeing dignity of the human person and equality for all, regardless of race, color, creed or gender. A pipe dream?
